Spanish 3 PAP Virtual Fieldtrip, Collaboration Law Enforcement & Construction Tech, and New Grandbaby

I want to introduce my newest family member- Noah! Noah is my first grandchild, born to my daughter, Leah and her husband, Mark. He was born Oct. 16, 2015. I had the privilege and joy of staying with them all last week to help out. I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and got the pleasure of lots of rocking! It was awesome!

Our Spanish 3 Pre-Ap students are studying art and the Day of the Dead.  Ms. Dacarett wanted to provide the students with an opportunity to see the works of art that relate to the Day of the Dead, so she contacted the Mexic-Arte Museum.  They agreed to do a virtual field trip with the Spanish class via Skype. The field trip was lead by Olivia Tamzarian completely in Spanish, giving our students a chance to practice their vocabulary.  Students were able to ask questions and make comments to extend their learning. This was a wonderful opportunity to engage our students with a real world situation, to allow them to learn more about a different country's culture, and to give them a chance to improve their language skills, simultaneously.
Thank you, Ms. Dacarett, for providing such a wonderful enriching experience for our students.

The following message was shared by one of our Law Enforcement teachers, Mr. De La Rosa:
"I wanted to share with you some of the wonderful work that Mr. Little's Construction Technology classes are doing in the construction of the furniture of our much anticipated CRHS Courtroom. When the idea was born to have our very own CRHS mini courtroom, we never imagined that our very own Construction Technology students would be up to the task to actually build the furniture itself. The programs joined forces, plans and measurements were taken, and the Construction students got to work on what our Law students had envisioned. Thus far, they have done an amazing job and presently, the courtroom furniture is near completion. The best part of this project has been the collaboration between both programs, who would have ever thought that the Law & Safety and Construction Technology students would be working on a joint project together? This is just another example of the talent and hard work of are very own CRHS students. Thought I would share some of the photos of the Construction Technology students hard at work finishing the courtroom furniture."

Thank you, Mr. De La Rosa and Mr. Little for great collaboration and for providing our students with great "real-world" experiences!
