Outstanding Performances, PSAT, and Other News!

There's a lot going on at the Ridge these days! We had a wonderful Homecoming Week, with tons of school spirit! Our Homecoming Parade was a huge success! We had an overflow crowd for our first community pep rally in the CR stadium. Go to the link to view some of the Homecoming events' pictures.

Ms. Bombardella shared some of her outstanding math students with me and I wanted to highlight these three ladies! They have done a great job in their math class and are being recognized for their exceptional effort and results! Congratulations to Danielle Byers. Mabree Dyess, and Karma' Maldonado!

Cedar Ridge Senior, Kelsey Singer was nominated for the FCA Lisa Landry Childress Scholarship Award by FCA Williamson County Area Representative Greg Knight and CRHS Huddle Leader Sara Parriott. We are excited to announce that out of all Central Texas FCA Huddles that Kelsey was chosen for the award. Kelsey was presented the honor Monday, October 3 at Escondido Golf Club at the FCA 30th Annual Tom Landry Memorial Golf Tournament. Congratulations, Kelsey! We are so proud of you!

Cedar Ridge Sophomores and Juniors will be taking the PSAT assessment Wednesday, October 19. It is so important for all the students to be here to take the test. This is is the assessment that Juniors can become eligible for National Merit Scholarships if they score high enough. The PSAT is paid for by the district, so it is free to students. Grade level teachers have planned for relevant activities for the Freshmen and Seniors on Oct. 19, so we expect everyone to attend that day.

Don't miss the final performances of CR Theater's"Steel Magnolias," tonight and Saturday night at 7:00 pm in the Black Box at Cedar Ridge High School. They've done a wonderful job with the play and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You will laugh and cry!

I want to wish our Raider band good luck at the Texas Marching Classic this Saturday at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex! They have been working so hard this summer and fall, and their show is fantastic!

Ms. Windell. Mr. Holland, and Ms. Isokpunwu took a group of students to Texas A&M for a visit on October 6th. The teachers and students were able to participate in Engineering activities and to learn about the Engineering programs at Texas A & M University. It was a great experience for the students, who were all seniors. In the Spring, there will be another invitational for sophomores and juniors. Pictures are available through the Texas A & M ENGAGE website.
