Students Work With Emerson Engineers!

The following story was contributed by Ms. Isokpunwu, a Cedar Ridge Science and Engineering Teacher. Ms. Isokpunwu recruited and made arrangements for these students to attend this very special Engineering Leadership Conference.

"A group of Cedar Ridge students were introduced to a room of international EMERSON engineers as new EMERSON employees hired to help with the next assignment given to them during a 2-week long leadership conference.

The task was to build a bicycle and prepare a presentation (including a jingle) to sell your bicycle to the panel of judges in 40 minutes (pictures attached).

After the building and presentations, students were informed that they would be able to keep the bike that they had built.

Students were exposed to engineering concepts, time constraints, team work, and presentation strategies during this experience."
