5th Annual Round Rock Empty Bowls Festival

Cedar Ridge High School hosted the 5th Annual Round Rock Empty Bowls Festival today. The event was conceived and coordinated by Tim Lowke, Cedar Ridge Visual Arts teacher. The Empty Bowl Festival is a service learning project for students across the district to study hunger and create clay bowls that are shared with the community during the festival. Community members are able to purchase a lovely one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl, and a bowl of soup. Cedar Ridge Culinary Academy students and teacher, Mr. Johnson, provided the delicious soup on which festival goers could feast.
The Festival benefits The Round Rock Area Serving Center.
