The entertainment was outstanding, as many of our Fine Arts students shared their talents with the veterans. Becca Morgan serenaded the guests with her harp as they were arriving and leaving.
Our Student Council officers served as hosts and hostesses, greeting the veterans and presenting them with a small gift of thanks. Student Council Vice President Zachary Smith lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and President Hannah Firl gave a heartfelt welcoming speech.
Our choir sang beautiful renditions of the National Anthem and the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Our amazing theater troupe, just off their run in the play Eurydice, shared touching descriptions of the admirable characteristics of a veteran, such as valor, honor, and courage.
Our fabulous Raider band wrapped up the celebration with rousing versions of the official songs from each branch of service. As each song was played, the veterans who served in that particular branch of service stood at attention and were recognized.
It was a huge honor and has become a much love Cedar Ridge tradition. We hope to have even more veterans join us next year to celebrate Veteran's Day. We want to show them that the younger generation truly appreciates their sacrifices and contributions to keep us free!
A special thank you to the two ladies who organized and made this all happen- Melanie Baldon and Susan Cantu!
Today, we had National Letter of Intent Signing for several of our students. It was a very proud moment for us here at Cedar Ridge. The following students signed letters of intent for next year-
