Preparing for the Winter Holiday!

This past week was a busy one wrapping up the "6-weeks" in preparation for finals. The week ended very festively thanks to Mr. Salomon and his KRU men! They put up holiday trees in the courtyard, which really helped get everyone into the holiday spirit. KRU named them their KRU's-mas Trees!

Mr. Salomon teaches digital electronics, along with mathematics, which came in handy as he and the KRU installed flashing lights that danced to instrumental holiday tunes. They also invited staff members to add special ornaments to the trees, which many of them did.

The culminating surprise was when Santa showed up during the lunch periods. Many students had their pictures made with Santa!

If you had been on campus this past Friday, you would also have seen quite a few "special" holiday sweaters on campus. You will see a few examples of those creative creations below! Mr. Lewis won our staff's Ugly Sweater Contest.

Ms. White's Medical Microbiology Class created models of viruses which became their 12 Days of Viruses celebration!

Please don't forget that we will be following the finals schedule this week. You will find the schedule listed in my last blog post. Monday is the only full day for students. Tuesday through Thursday, students will be released at 1:15 pm and will not be served lunch on campus. Also, please remember that the district is requiring all students to attend their classes, even those they have exempted. Friday is the beginning of the students' winter holiday, and will be a work day for staff members.

Good luck to all of our students taking finals this week! Go Raiders!
